From CNN:

The Supreme Court has ruled a federal law designed to stop the sale and marketing of videos showing dog fights and other acts of animal cruelty is an unconstitutional violation of free speech. The 8-1 decision was a defeat for animal rights groups and sponsors of the unusual congressional legislation. The specific case before the court dealt with tapes showing pit bulldogs attacking other animals and one another in staged confrontations.

Hell, if we can see ads here for "Hot Asian Women", read posts by Uglydog, and read the nutcase rantings of DDR-DSH, want to bet that these videos will end up here too? I hope not, but won't be surprised at all if they do.

This makes me sick.  What a failure on the part of our legislature.

The goverment isn,t in place to protect us from everything, Some times we have to deal with things our selfs. If i found a place or entered a place offering these items for sale I would not give them my business and make sure they know why.

Exactly Bob sometimes we must take things into our own hands no matter the outcome, things aren't always Roses but if we keep sweeping, just maybe we can make them Roses.

Let me point out that this is NOT a legislative decision, but a decision by the Supreme Court.

The pen is mightier than the sword.

Watching, looking, listening, is optional.

What in the world are we coming to.  We agree that child pornography is illegal as it should be.  If dogfighting is illegal, why can videos of a felony in progress be marketed under "free speech"?

Exactly, Micky.

Why Mickey D ?

Because our laws, and we're talking about our laws not other countries, are not based on principle but based on emotion.
Makes no sense does it.
If you look a little you can find the children and the dog fights.

Prosecute the act, not the words.

Moons.
