Hello Every body.
I've a German Shepherd puppy, he is 14 weeks, I've notice about 2 weeks ago, his left bone, or I should say bone on the left leg, it grown bigger, point out further then the right leg.
I am feeding him, Royal Canine 32% calcium puppy food for large breed, with Olewo carrot, Ocean kelp, omega 3, and Stucture.
he is now weight 15.3kg, that is around 35lbsl.
I am feeding him 3 times per day, 125gram of dry food each time.

another word, I am feeding him very careful and follow the guide line.

he is not limbing, but when he getting up, it seem little stiff for him.

I walk him 2 times per day, around 500 meter each time. only walking, not running.

would you please help me determine the problem,

thank you in advance
Eric

If your pup as the genetic potential for HD then I would not feed a growth feed more than 24% protein dry weight food, the rate of growth can influence HD if the potential is there. What were the previous 5 generations hip scores?

Hello Pam
I think protein is the problem, I just remember, about 1 1/2 month ago, when I feed him with 24% protien dry food, he doesn't have this problem, and then I switch to this 32% food, and Structure 28% protein powder, then this happen.

my question is.
is it too late right now? can he still be fix, or out grown if I feed him on 24% dry dog food with out any other protein powder?

thank you in advance

Hi Eric
put him back on the lower protein food and do not add any additives to the diet, hopefully no long term problem as he is still young, but must grow slowly for good hips/elbows
a complete food is just that no need to add anything.
