First do a cervical culture and sensitivity test on the first day of heat ( if she has some bacteria in the uterus, she won't get pregnant or have few, weak puppies ), then around the 8th day, a progesterone test ( will tell you best time/day to breed her)
Wish you luck

make sure that she has been checked for ALL possible issues, from STD"s to Thyroid and Hormonal issues.
after she is completely checked, if possible, let her stay with the male for the days when tests say she is most firtle.
good luck

on the flip side, some dogs just weren't meant to have puppies. if getting her bred is a problem, if she wont take or if she requires AI to conceive, is that something that you want to possibly perpetuate?

get her checked the Brucella, vagina culture / sensitity and mycroplasma,. those are the ones i would check, cause if any are positive she will not get pregant.
