Very Upsetting News ......Any Ideas??? - Page 1

I got this e-mail this morning from one of my puppy buyers I am so upset and do not know what to think ....................................................

I hope this email finds you well.

I have some sad news to share with you... Bevo, who played one of the
pups in Marley & Me, passed away this morning.

He had stopped eating for 3 days and started having diarrhea with a
lot of blood in his stool. Once we saw this symptom, we took him in
to our veterinarian and for the last 6 days, they had been trying to
figure out what was wrong with him.

At first, we thought it was something he ate and was causing a partial
blockage. Once that was proven wrong by ultra-sound, they started
doing blood tests. His liver checked out fine; however, they
discovered his white blood cell count was high and his red blood cell
count was very low. This lead our vet to believe that Bevo may be
suffering from either cancer, auto-immune deficiency or some type of
poison. Cancer was ruled out later thru further blood testing.

Unfortunately, time ran out before we could figure out what the issue
was. The vet seems to think Bevo was poisoned; however, his brother,
Biscuit, who spent every sleeping and waking hour with Bevo, is
perfectly fine and healthy. Possibly an iguana? We have several
lizards in our area... we just don't know.

We enjoyed the time we had with Bevo. He was a beautiful dog and a
great companion. His brother, Biscuit, will continue to keep us
company.

I thought it was important for you to have this information to keep

Sounds like Parvo..... But he was 2? Wow, So sorry to hear.

No I don't have Goldens ,the puppy Bevo  was one of 14 that were in the movie they actually picked him up off the set in Miami after they shot their scenes he was a very special puppy this is him at 20 secs the darker one ...I am just sick about this

They are YELLOW LABS, not golden labs....

LOL, I was just about to say that after seeing the clip.  I never saw the movie, I just always thought Marley was a Golden for some reason.

Very very sad. Did they do a necropsy? 

I didn't ask but I think they should they seem to just think it ate an iguana and are fine with that...I don't like unsolved mysteries  I told them to take the littermate in tomorrow to get it checked for hookworm...
