Last night we were having a block party in our court and left our GS inside the house,I guess will all the kids yelling and running around that he could only hear made him get up on the kitchen counter and nose the window wide enough open for him to jump out with the screen. It is about an 18 foot drop to the ground. My daughter came to get me to tell me what happened. The dog was fine except for a little cut on his lip. This morning we wake up and the white parts of his eyes are now real red?He is acting like normal..Our vet is closed today,Will this go away?

Red is blood!! If it was not for the eyes you would not know your dog is bleeding. A 18 foot fall could have been and still could be deadly. It may go away but ...My opinion...I would drive till I found a vet TODAY and make sure my dog was OK.

Back in Colorado, we had an old two story farm house with a window to the roof in our bedroom.
During the summer, we would go out the window, and sunbathe on the roof.
Our bitch,(house dog) would always follow us out there. She would get to the edge of the roof, and look down.
Then she would jump! It was like an obsession with her.
It was a two story leap, and her momentum would cause her to bang her face on the landing.
Her nose would be bleeding, and her eyes all swollen and bloodshot.
After the first time, I said , she won't do that again. 10min later, she did it again.
Your dog should be fine.

He may have a hemorage of some sort......that height can cause some serious injuries, that you may not see on the "outside".
I would suggest a trip to any vet and get him checked......a no brainer in judgement call.
Hope all turns out well....

The thing about "animals is"...they can't tell you......
So.. if you are concerned....you should go find a vet, and have him checked. I've seen "nothing" happen with some accidents, and others (thought nothing)...turned out to be a problem.
Ultimately....it's your call...

I'm sure Abhay is right. Trauma can cause bloodshot eyes, but if everything else if fine, eating, walks okay, can see properly, than it should clear up in a day or two. However, we would be remiss, if we didn't say get him vet checked just to be on the safe side. Seriously though, I don't know what a vet could do for him.
If it was human, they'd say don't let him go to sleep for an hour, in case he goes into a coma, but this happened last night.

Red Sable knows her stuff! If a human gets hit hard enough in the nose, they will have 2 black eyes
the next day. When a dog jumps from a high spot, they cannot help but have hard impact and trauma
to the nose and face. This of course affects the eyes as Red Sable stated.

they can get pitiki eye from a fall. luckily he didn't break a leg! I would take him in for a check up just to be safe

The hemorage in his eyse has got worse overnight. The same hemorage could be going on in the brain or deep behind the eye that you can't see. This could cause bressure on the brain. That would take some time before it would show up. It sounds as all MIGHT be OK. There are many things that a vet can check and rule out. Until you see a vet, all is a guess.

Abhay.. If a human falls 18 foot and lands on his head he will have black eyes and a bloody nose also. He may be OK or go into a comma and die days later. The only thing to do, human or dog, go to the hospital and get checked out. If all is OK then you still did the right thing!! If this dog dies are you going to tell Geeno that Red sable knew her stuff!! Red sable only gave her opinion....and then said get the dog checked out to be on the safe side.
