Oh great -- my dog has already chewed a hole (about the size of a Cantaloupe) in the new Kennel Fence that I had installed last week ($1,650). I'm not a happy camper. It is supposed to be repaired this coming week and they said more "flat bars" will be installed for reinforcement. It is Black Vinyl coated Chain Link Mesh 1-1/4"

uh boy I can empathize mine crawled into the pump house and for no apparent reason gnawed all the wires this week for fun..

The gauge of wire was to thin just looked thick with the coating on it. Get 9ga wire they wont chew through that. That sucks for the price to happen in a week. Instead of repairs maybe they will install a heavier ga wire for you now that they see the problem you are going to keep having with that wire they have on their now.

Oh yes -- another problem -- he chewed all the wiring to my Air Conditioning Unit -- which is why I had the Kennel fencing installed !! Additionally, I also just had a side door installed in my garage so I can bring him straight into the garage instead of having to bring him in through the Dining Room to get to the garage .....

MBPlayer -- it is stated as 9 gauge; however, that includes the vinyl...which is really covering an 11 gauge wire.

Yes looks weak fence to me, it needs supports vertically and horizontally or diagonal cross, Are those galvanized pipes? Check with them how they're going fix the bars to the pipes !!

When I put in my permanent kennel this summer, I am going to be cruising Craigslist for wrought iron panels. I figure I can get used panels for $400, slap a used wooden double garage door on for a roof, and call it a kennel. I'll have to hire a welder to put it together and bolt it down on my terra cotta tile patio. I am not going to do any more of this temporary stuff.

Wow, those showlines are trouble, bet you are wishing you had of gotten a workingline...

That sucks about the kennel wire, but you'll sure like the door in the gargage huh? These dogs are more expensive than children.

I figured as much I used to install fences fo a living. You can't go wrong with straight 9ga wire. Hopefully he doesn't turn into a digger after you get the fence fixed. Good Luck with the repairs.
