EisenFaust, one very well known hip producer and producer of excellent drive, etc...is Tom z Pohranicni Straze.

He is Czech lines. You may find his pedigree here:

Hope this helps.

Dont know what you are looking for but I do know of one female pup with his lines who is available.  she is 4 - 4.linebred on Grim.  She also has Almalka in her pedigree.

Here is a link to her ped.  http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/644361.html

The breeder also offers the sire of this pup for stud.

Hope this helps

Grim is known to produce considerable hardness, but he is better known for occasionally producing handler agressive dogs...He also is not known as a GOOD hip producer. Quite the opposite, actually.

I am NOT knocking Grim, there are many who would never own a dog without Grim in the pedigree, but I prefer not to own a dog that is known for producing what he does. I prefer a dog that produces considerable hardness, but not one that is known for throwing bad hips and some handler agressive offspring.

This is not a pissing match to me, I am simply sharing what I have learned from talking to many wonderful breeders. For those who doubt my knowledge, please feel free to PM me and I will gladly provide references.

Three of my dogs have Grim in them but I do not think he was a hip improver .   I have a grandson and grandaughter of Grim neither is handler aggressive both are very handler oriented want to please and have great noses.  In DDR dogs I look for Don and Derrik Vom haus Iris . In Czech dogs I look for Titus z Pohranicni Straze his sire Bero vom Friedersdorfer Flur along with  Arys z Travnickova dvora in pedigrees to improve everything. In  West German dogs  Fero is proven line breeding on him works .

Thanks for the responses everyone, I am looking for a solid female for competition in PPD work but also can be used for breeding. She must be able to produce dogs for the work but must also have real good hips and hopefull produce very good hips.  I have scene the list of the best stud dogs that produce good hips. What are some of the best females that produce workability and good hips. This question sounds very basic but I am looking for ok hips or the standard A-Normal. I want better than that....So I am looking for the true top 1% of hip producers.

Does anyone know where to find that old thread that included a statistical breakdown of the best stud dogs that produce good hips? I've been doing searches, but haven't found it yet. That chart may be helpful for others to see here.

This is a list I made up, with the following criteria:

1.  Ratings certified under the German SV (A-stamp)  sorry, no czech dogs!
2.  >100 progeny sired
3.  >20% total progeny (x-rayed or not) received "a-1" rating
4.  >33% of total progeny's x-rays were submitted for certification
5.  >50% of the submitted x-rays received "a-1" rating
6.  >40% Estimated Breed Value (item #5 modified by any disproportionate # of x-rays not submitted)

The #6 item is a formula I devised to eliminate manipulation of the system to make a producer appear better than he produces, while still allowing equal advantage to the producer whose larger proportion of progeny are submitted for certification.  This is a major reason I do not give a lot of weight to the HD-Zuchtwerte (ZW Breed Value) system.

There was also a study conducted by the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover Germany that was published by the Journal of Animal Breeding and Genetics on this very topic last summer, specifically in regard to CHD, the German Shepherd, and SV's data interpretation.  Simulation study on the effects of excluding offspring information for genetic evaluation versus using genomic markers for selection in dog breeding

If I were considering a puppy, I'd be giving a serious look at this breeding, and make a reservation asap.  Faro Policia (3-2 on Bero) is well known for producing great hips and strong working aptitude.  The dam he's bred to is no slouch herself, on or off the field, and with an impressive Penn Hip score.

Thanks RFS!

I was just about to post a hip chart darylehert posted on a Fero thread that looked something like what I had seen before. So I'm not surprised he has this info., and probably was the poster of the charts I remember. Thanks, Daryl

Thses PDF's look like what I had seen before in another thread. This board needs a favorite thread function...I'll be saving these pdf's for quick reference. Thanks, again!
