I had the same experience as most of the people who have posted concerning this product. After this happened to my dog, I searched the net and am finding it has happened to most people who used Promeris. I can't believe this product is still on the market. If anyone knows of a petition or some other type campaign to get it taken off the market, I would like the info. I will do anything I can. I was so afraid to lose my dog or have her permanently affected by this product. I'm still not sure she is 100% to pre-Promeris condition, but I am hopeful.

It was 1 week from yesterday that I applied Promeris for the first (and only) time. I would have never bought it. A friend gave me one to try. I applied it on my lunch break at around 1pm and came home at 5pm to find my 7 year-old 70lb red Doberman dizzy and wobbling around the house obviously very uncomfortable, irritated, confused and not responding normally.  I immediately suspected Promeris. I had never really heard of it, but after speaking with the Vet, it was confirmed that these are common symptoms seen from Promeris use. She spent 1 night in ICU at the University Vet school and was administered 2 doses of the med to try to reverse the effects, and IV fluids. Her heart rate eventually went back to normal ..within 18-24 hours, and most of the ataxia (lethargic, dizzy) seemed to subside. But the night she returned from the vet was still scary. As another person said above, she got into a deep sleep and was very difficult to wake up as her muscles twitched and her breathing was shallow. I kept waking her and taking her for walks all through the night that time 24-36 hours after the exposure to the chemical. It was a very scary night even though the vet said she had responded well to the treatment and would probably be okay. Within 72 hours after the application of Promeris and 48 hrs after returning from the Vet, she was almost her normal self, with the exception of lower endurance, getting tired more easily. Now over 1 week has passed and she is seeming more like herself than ever. There was 1 evening, 2 nights ago where she started acting a little weird and it, of course, scared me as I am still concerned. We went for a short run yesterday she seems to be still improving and again, seeming much like the pre-Promeris dog.

For those few people who still support Promeris because it works for you, please, please reconsider what this product has done to most dogs that have been exposed to it. Please don't subject ANY animal to this.  This many people can't be overreacting , making this up, or  paranoid. The proof is all over the net. And just talk to the vets who have seen the countless cases come into their clinics. It obviously scared me profoundly as well as made me angry that I could have lost or permanently hurt my dog by using this product when there are safer alternatives such as Frontline (which I've used very safely and successfully) and Advantix. As I have the free time I will continue to research how I may get the word out about the possible dangers of Promeris and steps I can take to have it's sales stopped.
