I have told people to use hotwire before on the outside of a fence line.. never as the fence for a dog.. this is wild..

Thats an electric fence and the dog would never go through it, over it maybe but I doubt it.
It probably would knock a man off his feet.

Yikes.  I hope that pen is bigger than it looks.  And yes, that water looks pretty nasty.  Wonder how many months it's been growing...

They have a fenced yard, it looks like, so why contain the GSD behind an electric fence?  If he's a jumper, run hot on the top, if a digger, at the bottom...And for God's sake, clean out the water trough!

The ad is very sad.  In the other pics, you get more of a body shot and he's filthy.  Hopefully, he's dirty because he just had a fun romp, but it looks unlikely.  Hope he finds a home where someone will at least take proper care of him, he looks like a sweetheart.

Thats a live stock tank , perhaps he's in a stock pen with other animals.

I don't think he looks dirty in the other pics, just wet. He looks well fed and the other pics are taken out in front of the house so at least they take him out of that bizzar pen/kennel setup. I also wont dig on them for the water trough, my dogs can dirty one up in a heartbeat, even on concrete by swimming in it. Ad says he knows how to shake, sit and down, sounds like he is a loved pet and spent time with. Atwater is a town in a bigtime agriculture area. Foster Farms is located there.

I have seen far worse.

4pack , Glad you know the layout - I lived near Atwater last year. This dog looks like it is in a home, in an newer subdivision from the other pictures you can see the cookie cutter houses. My concern is that there is a HUGE water tub in the middle of the yard surounded by hotwire.. and then the rest of the yard from the picture looks like the grass has died off .. They possibly just keep him there to go to the bathroom, but when I look at the picture its just such a WTF where they thinking moment. If you have a big yard like that why not put the hotwire on the fence, I have never in all my life seen just a fence made of hotwire for a dog.

I was not too concerned about the water either, my dogs like to dip there feet in there water, so there is always shavings and dirt floating around.. yuck - they must like it. Another thing, I was just laughing about this... You bleach and scrub the water dish and the dog sits right next to you drinking the puddle of water as you wash the bucket.. or run's over to the old horse puddle and yumms it up - YUCKY dogs.. lol

I think they have a twist on the invisible fence except its the ''visible fence''      people take the worst pictures sometimes they really need help ,, We need to do a thread on how to take a good picture for an ad then we can send it to them
