In the second row of buttons above the text box when you post is a yellow box with a sun and a mountain. Click on that, and go to the upload tab of the little window that appears.  Hit the browse button to bring up the folders in your computer, and select the picture you want to upload, click send to server.  When it appears in the preview box, then you can edit size (best size is 500x375. Then click OK and it will appear in your message.

Also you can create a folder and upload pics into it, or link a photobucket account.  To create a folder, you click that same yellow mountain/sun box, and when it comes up, click on the browse button, which will bring up the folders.  Click at the bottom where it says "create new folder", customize your folder, and then upload pics into it.

As for the photobucket accounts, I don't have a clue how to link those.

Ok, I have a question. I'ver tried numerous times to get a picture uploaded. I go thru all the steps and all I get is the little red "x" box in the corner. I've tried to create a folder and do it directly - no justice....any ideas?

Thank you so much.  I've now added a picture of my girl in GS section of the forums.

To use Photobucket, go to your account and copy the "direct link".  Paste it into the URL box and resize as described above.  I haven't been able to upload direct for quite some time and I don't know why but I use this alternate method and it works.
