Since you posted it so correctly and it is a valid off topic question Yes I have and a few others also. But my friend, were going to get stuck with the bill no matter what. The best health care is a thriving economy with people with good paying jobs and business making a good profit but not at the expense of it,s employes or the generla public.

I don't agree that our elderly no longer contribute to society. They are the foundations for the current generations, people with an important view of history, of life. They have wisdom gained through living, not knowledge gained from books.
I don't believe that a public option is a good choice. I am not certain that existing insurance companies provide good options, either. I personally think that something needs to be done to force medical care costs down, so that people can actually afford them. Doctors need to make a living, so do nurses, and hospitals need to make enough to pay the bills and expand when needed. But health care is a huge industry, and its primary concern, like big oil, big banks and Walmart, is profit.
Moons oversimplified above, but it makes sense...Cash and carry. Doctor X over here charges $600 for an upper GI CT scan. Doc Y over here charges only $300...More people go to Dr. Y for the CT scan, Dr. Y makes more money and can live better, can expand his clinic, can pay off his student loans and other expenses, and hire more people to staff his clinic, thereby providing jobs that contribute to the community.
Throwing insurance companies into the mix...Whoever has the money decides whether you live or die...If that person is you, then you are the one with the choice. If that's the US govt, the Canadian govt, or some big insurance company, then they have the choice, not you. You can guarantee that their biggest goal, being in it for the PROFIT, is to reduce the amount paid out so they make the bottom line bigger. If that means your cancer treatments are denied until after you die, well, that saved them a lot of money, didn't it? If that means that they deny treatment when you're having a heart attack, then it's cheaper for them...Funerals cost less than heart surgeries.
It's just cold, hard numbers. Human concerns and human emotions don't enter into it, though they (and the current administration) hope it does enter into the voting for it. To understand it, you have to look at it the same way the big money does.
Just my opinion, of course, but based on research I have done on the big insurance scams (oops, I mean companies) and on what the government option would change.
The US government could not run a brothel, selling sex and booze. What makes you think they can run health care in America?

Most times you don't even get to see what was charged in itemized form.
The Pharmaceutical companies hold the medicine over our heads and play on our weakness for an easy life.
They hold a monopoly in this country, hell all over the world.
Remove the insurance and take better care of yourself and your family, squirrel away the money you'd normally give to them.
We should have never bailed them out in the first place.
Remove restrictions on medicines from other countries, or at least demand we pay no more for the same medicine than they do in other countries.
Put the medical community on notice that we will shop price, and quality of services.
Cash is king.
As for the government,
Put an end to the waste and out right stealing, the kick backs and lobbyists.
Do not give free service to illegals, they are here working, they get a paycheck just like everyone else.
Get a system going to tax them just like us.
Put limits on welfare to those who live the lifestyle and do not try to better themselves.
And teach better health to the children so they can live better in the future.
Or just burn it all down.........lol
