I see some Chez dogs with huge long ears. All the older DDR dogs had big huge heads and short tight ears. Where do these long ears come from. I mean they are so long i t looks funny like a big rabbits. Prager do you know.

What dogs are you talking about? Do you have some names? That might help to be able to look at a pedigree and see what dogs are in it to maybe know what was thrown in there to get it. I haven't noticed any although I only look at certain ones and don't bother with the rest.

I was curious to the same thing wrestle man. But not just one region, in general. Where it started? and why is it becoming more prevalent?

As I have a GSD with large ears and his are prone to frost bite from the lack of blood flow to the outer regions of his ears. I have to constantly pay attention in cold weather and take special care More so than my dogs with short triangular eared dogs. So I not fond of the large ears.

Hmm I never really noticed any that had freakishly large ears....I know on younger dogs it takes them some time to grow into their ears as sometimes that's the first thing you notice on them but as they grow and fill out the ears don't look as large.  Sometimes it may also be that they don't have a big blocky head and more of a feminine head piece that may make the ears stick out more prodominantly....post a pic of what you're talking about.

Yoshy,  I didn't think about the cold/ frostbite issue.
