Unbelieveable!!!!! We should all boycott and write to Pet Smart!!!
Please read the description on this product, you won’t believe it… and guess what, Petsmart is now carrying it! Instead of a plastic or wire crate, it is a pad that will shock your dog if they get up and move…so let's get a pad that will shock them if they dare move!!!!! GRRRRRRRRR..,,.,.,.Now I have heard everything!!!!! Steph

Wow, what's next a food bowl that shocks the dog if it doesn't eat all of it's food? Unfreakingbelievable! It's a scary world that some one would actually buy that or even manufacture it.

gonna sit here for a while and shake my head

Well I don't have to worry about the food shocking one....my dogs are finished almost before the bowl gets to the floor.lol
Don't you know Step it is just easier to fry a dog to do things!!! (said with sarcasm...alot of it) To train a dog takes time,effort,persistance,,consistancy....way too much for some people. My personal thought is...then don't have a dog.Get a stuffed animal....or the kind that has batteries and will bak or do a flip and then sit. That is what those kind of people need.
Come to think of it....I believe..from what i have heard, that racing Greyhounds have a shock mat that is in the box that they are in so they won't lay down. That way they are ready to take off for the race. I trained one that that was the hardest dog I have ever trained. It freaked out when I tried to have it sit or down. I did it outside on the grass and it was ok...but in on the mats we had...it was a different story.I think it associated those mats with the shocky thingy

I can't believe that!
I haven't seen it (yet) in the Petsmart I work for, but then I spend most of my day in the salon. I am going to look tomorrow though for sure! I don't know if it will help or not, but I will call the corporate office Monday and see if I can speak to someone about that product. That is absolutely disgusting! I cannot believe they are carrying it!
We have an excellent trainer at our store (yes, there are some good ones out there guys, lol) and I bet she will be absolutely appalled at that when she finds out!
And if corporate doesn't like what I have to say, well I'm moving out of state soon anyway so they can fire me. I'm not planning on transferring anyway

The theory is somewhat valid though I doubt the general public would have much luck conditioning a dog with that thing We condition all dogs to remain stationary on a raised platform and use the nick via attrition to teach them to remain stationary it has loads of practical application. They should change the name to ''training mat'' and have a DVD with the cliff notes version of how to teach a dog to remain stationary. The pet industry see's a huge future in technology based training unfortunately they don't know how to tell people how to apply it

OMG! What will they come up with next? What bullsh*t! If a person has to resort to something like this because they are so frickin' lazy that they can't train a dog to stay put, then they need to buy one of those stupid robot dogs. Then they can turn it on when they want a dog and shut it off when it becomes inconvenient. Shaking my head here.
Jim, you might be onto something about the food bowl...if I could get one that would shock me when I eat I might just lose some of these extra pounds. Hmmmm a new diet fad.
