What can we do?
Between myself and people I know I doubt if we have run into five honest people between us. Sometimes it's easy to spot a scam, other times it takes research and e-mailing third parties.
There are some people who have dishonest ads on a regular basis - line Florida Dog Academy. When I put too many questions to them about inconsistencies, they say the dog has been sold but repost the ad.
We have tried tp post messages warning people of ads that are at least misrepresenting what they are selling. Is there anything else we can do?

Yes Wise Guy, there is something you can do. Do just what you already did. Buyer beware. Do your homework. Check with MANY resources, including some you know here. A lot of us who have been here for many years know who is and who is not scamming. In the end, because so many threads get deleted, it can be difficult to get the truth. But by asking for private email responses, you will get word soon enough of the real scammers. In business, there are always going to be disagreements and misunderstandings. However, when someone really is scamming, eventually that will come out. As for not selling you a dog, and then reposting, they may not be terribly honest about it, but perhaps they do not think someone is the right candidate for a given dog. I would tell you personally if that were the case and we were doing business. That might make you angry too. But I would be upfront about it. Some people are not upfront. You just have to live and learn, and be careful in the meantime.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Good luck gentlemen:,
I know that I have been taken once or twice on the internet as far as dogs. I now either go and check the dog out personally or have one of my partners check the dog (especially if in Europe). contrary to what the ogre (""Lenny" or William Leonard) promised to me and apparently had no intentions of delivering , even though as an airline retiree he has buddy passes, so flies virtually for free while I picked up the rest of the tab. My new partners have been good to me and I will be good to them. No more questionable tenperment (they have knowledge that you can only dream of having, OGRE LEONARD), no more faulty movement. Do your due diligence and you will be rewarded!
