I was building a pedigree of a dog that I am in the process of transfering in my name. There was a dog ( Krieger Vom Baer Enzwinger) in this pedigree that had nothing behind it. I purchased a copy of that dog's pedigree from AKC and was going to add sire and dam so my dog's pedigree could be extended to another generation. However, when I came back to add that pedigree it said the pedigree was locked by its owner. Why can't I edit it since I was the one who originally entered the dog's pedigree to begin with. When I did pedigree search on data base for Krieger Vom Baer Enzwinger it said no dog was found on this data base. I did enter one incorrectly and went to delete that one and thats when the message about it being locked came up. I am not rying to change anyone's original pedigree just trying to complete mine. HELP!!!! I don't want anyone to think I am trying to mess with pedigrees...

That is kinda funny that you can't correct or add to something you made up but other people are able to mess with pedigrees that aren't even theirs!!

I looked in history of editing and I just sent a PM to the person who locked the pedigree. Haven't heard back. Hopefully I will hear something soon. I thought they would have sent me a PM asking why I did the edit if I wasn't supposed to, but that didn't happen yet. Could've explained why they locked it...Just don't want to be accused of trying to change pedigrees...

Oli did tell me once some pedigrees were locked but he did not explain how or why.

I think locking pedigrees is a great idea! I didnt know this feature was added. How do you do it? Someone was screwing with the hip rating on my dog's sire a while back.

It's the weak link and Oli should figure it out before some troll goes ape shit on them all.
