In this context I am referring to Clubs advertising Obedience. For some time I have noticed that any photographs included in these Sites, do not necessarily suggest to me the concept of obedience!
Quite a lot seem to focus on Christmas Party pictures at the Club. Why???
An individual photo of a dog. (Very nice but need more than a nice photo of a nice dog)!
Dogs doing Agility??? (If someone was wanting Agility, surely they would be investigating Agility Clubs)!
Plus if there are photos of Members and their dogs or even the Trainer(s) and their dog, the dogs are being held physically to maintain a position for the photo!!! There is a well known Trainer and Behaviourist here in England, and the main photo of himself and his other Trainers with their dogs, shows them all being held. Should we not be seeing dogs responding well to their Owner, happy to maintain a Sit or Down as required.
Surely, if Clubs are advertising a certain discipline, should they not be presenting a good representation as a Shop Window?
