In Rabun County (NE Georgia) or Buckhead/Atlanta area.

I am working with a young dog that has dog reactivity/aggression issues. He is 9 months old and I have seen marked improvement over the last week that he has been at my house. He is due to return to his family in the next week or so, and I would like to have an excellent trainer to refer them to.

I am not looking for a froo-froo "stop-that-sweetie" trainer, nor do I want a hang-em-high type. This dog is responding very well to desensitization techniques.

Please include any info on the trainer in your reply (ie website, methods, experience).

Thanks in advance!

Rik lives in the Atlanta area, but doesn't post here often. You might try PMing him for some suggestions. He's actively involved with a Schutzhund club.

Just click the 'PM Inbox' button above, select 'Send PM' and type his name into the approprate window!

Rik lives in Alabama and isn't a professional dog trainer.. He is a member of our club but isn't actively training in schutzhund with us.....  why are you not continuing the training on the dog?  There are alot of schutzhund clubs in Georgia if your person is interested in training their own dog... if not, they might can guide you to a personal trainer....

I live 2-3 hours from them so it is not really feasible for me to do regular sessions. In the past, they have trained at a facility that apparently has zero tolerance for any aggression-- so that won't help.
I have asked the members of my schutzhund club but so far no one has time, or is close enough (or is appropriate) to help out.

Sorry I would help you but I am not in the GA area...I am in AZ...a bit far.lol At least the pup you have is 9 months....much easier to get through the dog aggression then one that is older. At least it is to me. Good luck and I hope you find the proper trainer that can work with you.
