There is a vet locally who will do it for $140, but I don't like them:)

What I find with this is what I already been through. Do you want to go to a middle of the road place that doesn't know how to place the legs for it or do you want to go to someone who does this ALOT?
I went through this and ended up finding a place that some one recommended to me.
I have only heard of one person not being happy about MSU.
But, I drove to Michigan University and I was so happy I did.
I paid actually less then I would have with the middle of the road clinic here. They will all tell you oh we know how.
Don't be worried about the ---money---- be worried on ---Who does it!!
. I went to MSU and like 10 people was in there doing the whole thing and making sure the dog was steady and that the legs were in the right position. The thing took less time then the waiting for the sedative to kick in
I was very happy for like 180-200 don't remember exactly, I got the hips and elbows done. The elbows were clear, very clear, perfect clear and the hips good.
So, I think your question is very valid.
MSU has it 's own veterinary school and they are very good at what they do it is a daily common thing for them to do xrays for OFA, for SV don't forget to get all the info on your xray or you will have to re do them.
good luck.
