Sunsilver

(You have to be familiar with the Narnia Chronicles to fully 'get' this one....)

Here's Aslan!

Sunsilver

So far today:

My room mate got stuck backing out of the driveway. She got free after 15 minutes of digging, and with the help of myself and the meter reader.

I then got ready to blow the driveway out. It took 15 min. of shovelling just to get the shelter dug out enough that I could GET to the snowblower!

Then  I found it had a flat tire.

I got out the air compressor and blew it up.**

Half way through the driveway, on an uphill slope through deep snow, I fried the drive belts. The snowblower is now sitting in the driveway behind my van. I can't move it up, can't move it down because the wheels won't rotate! It's 200 lbs. of DEAD WEIGHT!!

Seriously, if my passport weren't expired, I'd be headed south!

Yeah, Shelly, GO AHEAD AND GLOAT!!

(**The tire, of course, not the snowblower. However, at this point in time, I'd probably gladly blow up the snowblower, too, if it would get it out of the driveway!)

Two Moons

It seems like this winter has been hard on everyone,
If you go far enough south the snow has turned into thunderstorms and flooding, mudslides and roads made impassible.
One county to the west of me has stopped all school bus traffic on gravel roads which covers pretty much the whole county.
The counties budget cannot repair the roads and parents are faced with driving miles to the nearest paved road to have their kids picked up for school.
Very hard on working families and the paved roads are not doing much better.
I'd say prepare for more unusual weather to come, things are changing like it or not.

AWWW I love that pic Sunsilver!!! Loved the Narnia books.I think I still have them somewhere.Saw the movie and I started to remember what I read in the books long ago when I was a kid.
Sorry but I am going to be the first to gloat before Shelley. It is sunny here and warm...well a perfect temp.Blue sky and the birds are singing and the humming bird is happy that the feeder isn't frozen.Strange little bird came back too soon cause it was caught in that snow that we did have that shut down the town. It is a beautiful day.Think I am going to load up all the hounds and go to the park and let them run around the baseball field.

If I took MY dogs to the baseball diamond for a run, I'd need to wear snowshoes!  The snow is past my knees!

Sunsilver, you're having the kind of winter we had the past two years.  This year, very little snow, and it's been warm every single days for almost two months.  It was snowing heavily yesterday, in the morning when I got my kid off to school, but by midday had turned to rain.  Last night there was only a trace in the driveway, it had melted everywhere else.  They've already come though on our paved rural road and swept all the sand off the roads..Need to clean the ditches, now, and recycle all that sand for next year.

it's been very mild here all winter, except for a couple of weeks of very cold weather, dropping down below zero at night and only being single digits in the daytime.

Nice weather, really...Except for the road limits being on in February, instead of April.

Crys
