Poor dog.  It is so easy to tether a dog and prevent this.

Poor kid. I'll go pick him up if his idiot owner doesn't claim him and find him someone who deserves him!

It is no problem at all to tether the dog in the back of the truck, if it rides back there.  It is stupid and negligent to let a dog ride unrestrained in the back of the truck, unless one is looking to lose the dog.

The way I see it, spend a few seconds protecting the dog.

Thank God, here in California, it is now illegal to ride a dog in the back of the truck or any open vehicle.......with 1 exception which was just and I mean just added!   Trish :)

Violation may result in citation, court appearance and fines of up to $250 per incident. EXCEPTION: Dogs may be transported if each animal is cross-tethered securely or the sides of the open vehicle are built up to a height of 46 inches (3-feet, 10-inches) (Vehicle Code Sec. 23117)

Maybe is was thrown out? Maybe the people dont want the dog back. Bad economy has allowed people to get rid of thier dogs.

no, it is not acceptable to tie the dog in the back of the truck!!!  we had one dumb s.o.b show up here with his dog tied in the back of the truck - dog had tried to jump out and was hanging by the neck over the side of the truck!  luckily, unharmed, but shit like that makes me just furious!  i saw a dog jump out of an open car window(while traveling) and hit the pavement also.  some people are incredibly stupid and don't even deserve to have a dog.  geez!

Norma has been notified. She said she will pass it on to the rescue network, but that currently they are maxing all resources.
