Just curious,  do keep your pregnant bitches on any supplements?  My bitch has excellent hips but, I like to keep her on glucosamine while she is pregnant, just a superstition.  Are there any side-effects on keeping a pregnant bitch on glucosamine while pregnant?

Thanks to all you reliable sources,
Cheers

CHICKEN FEET ARE BETTER THAN ANY OTC SUPPLEMENT. NO NEGATIVES. FOR MAX RESULTS FEED THE RAW CHICKEN FEET AND CRANK UP SOME CHICKEN FOOT FOR THE GSD LISTENING PLEASURE.

The recommendation for people is to avoid it during pregnancy and breast feeding but only because there is little data on whether it is safe or not.

Exactly, this particular supplement I would not give while pregnant.  Not enough data on this to be safe for mama dog.

Personally, I would NOT give a pregnant female any supplements of any kind unless perhaps a vitamin and an adequate diet. I would especially NOT give this to a female who was pregnant. Glucosamine and Condroitin sulfate can make diabetic problems worse (raises blood sugar), and they have a blood thinning action in some cases. I would not want to risk this is a pregnant female, human or canine.
