A friend just showed me the most recent attempt to justify the by-law change that was pass in Nov. It was written by the UScA National Breed Warden. What I have noticed and don't understand is, what is a Competing GSD Organization and what are they competing for?
By definition Compete means:
com⋅pete /kəmˈpit/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [kuhm-peet] Show IPA
Use competing in a Sentence
See images of competing
Search competing on the Web
–verb (used without object), -pet⋅ed, -pet⋅ing. to strive to outdo another for acknowledgment, a prize, supremacy, profit, etc.; engage in a contest; vie: to compete in a race; to compete in business.
Are they competing for acknowledgment? If so from who and why?
Are they competing for a prize? If so, what prize? Supremacy? Profit?
If UScA is the only organization preserving the GSD and not the other GSD Organization where is the competition? Also, members had a choice before the by-law change.
UScA or GSDCA or GSDCA-WDA or AKC don't have to compete to preserve the GSD. They are COMPETING for one reason and one reason only and that's in hopes of the SV to say, you are the "Supreme" organization and we "Acknowledge" you, so your "Prize" will be control the selection of the U.S. team.
Here a solution and I have said it all along. We should want our system to be like the SV's but not just to send 6 people (mostly the same people) to a SchH trial once a year. I feel the SV has created this problem and they can fix it. The SV can step up and write a statement to the U.S. organizations then post it to this forum (So that neither organization can give their version) on who they recognize and why or why not.
I also think that we (As the U.S.) should use our on Judges at our Sieger Shows and Nationals. When was the last time any of our Judges judge at a BSP or a BSZS? Or any other judge from another country judge at the BSP? I'm not talking about the WUSV. If we want to use them Ok, but it seem like it's a must to have them judge our National events. When I have talked with the some of the top people in the SV they don't think it's necessary either.
My point is we have created this illusion of some sort of great need to have the SV to sign off on everything we try to do in this country and that's both UScA and GSDCA-WDA and for what?
