Seminar Ivan Balabanov - Page 1

Hi, All.  I just wanted to give everyone my take on the Ivan Balabanov seminar I went to this weekend.  For those of you who haven't trained with him, he is fantastic.  I did not study his method before I went to this seminar.  I simply have a showline puppy with lower drive and wanted to learn how to build it.  Plus, I took my Hanz to continue to work on the confidence issues he developed while at Rentz working dogs and to start the a frame and hurdle for schutzhund.  So, that is why I was there, but there others with much more advanced dogs than I had.  Anyway, my little smeal is this.  Watching Ivan work a dog is like watching a matador romance a bull.  He communicates so fluently with dogs.  He seems to pull maximum out of a dog with minimum effort.  He showed me good fundamentals that I was missing and gave me a clear direction to achieve my goals in the future.  His methods were clear and easy to understand for both my dog and I.  End the end, my little girl was retrieving her ball and my male had his powerful confidence back on the field and even a great couple of commands like watch me that I didn't know to use until last week.  We didn't get to work on the A frame or hurdle, bc we were catching up on the other stuff.  Anyway, this is the kind of trainer that makes working your dog even more enjoyable.  I recommend him 10 times over!  Definitely a MUST SEE even if it is just to audit, but lots of fun with a dog.

I have 3 of Ivans DVDs...I have the Obedience without Conflict "Clear Communication" and "The Game." I also have one of his newer ones "The Retrieve". Ivans methods really work well.

Ivan is incredibly gifted. Like you said, watching him work a dog is a thing of beauty and awe. I highly recommend his seminars, even auditing you learn so much.
