Too funny Liz. As I said the little things in life make me happy.  I am helping the economy in my own little way.

I have the purple "animal" Dyson and a newer one with the ball (not sure of the model) and they are amazing! Hair I never knew existed comes flying out of corners when I turn on the Dyson.

Prior to the Dysons, I would generally purchase something at Wal Mart and replace it about once a year. It was sad to think a vacuum cleaner became "disposable". Needless to say, this bothered me tremendously. The Dyson's have held up to the rigors of kids, dogs, cats, horses, raccoons, and whatever other critter finds it way into our home.

Raymond, the central vacs and the amount of hair that will get clogged into the walls will be a fire hazard. Get the Dyson, do not listen to the salesmen.
I have this with the dryers, the vents have to be blown. I have seen a few condo's/apts/homes torched when the owners do not clean them out.
If any of you have central vacs, get someone in there to blow them out. You have to be careful that the vents do not come apart, so get someone who knows what they are doing.

You won't regret it! We've had one for years now and love it! We finally invested in one after going through other models vacs that you have to chang the bag or the motor stops working. You can spend $300 to $500 on a Dyson, depending on the model, but it pays for itself. Sturdy, does a great job and so easy to dump & clean the cannister.

Seems inexpensive to me.

Do you know, when I was first married I spent $1800 bucks on a Tri-star??  Talk about gullible.  My husband said it was because the salesman was a hunk, (which he was) but, that wasn't even why.  He was just friggin' persistant.   Couldn't even find bags anywhere close to me.  Dumbdidumb dumb dumb..  NEVER again.

Too funny Sable, I did not same thing with a Kirby 30 years ago, high pressure sale. I learned a good lesson then that if someone was that persistant I was going to walk away and that is how I have handled many situations.
Always,
Cee
