January 4th, 2010 @ 7:36am
MIDVALE, Utah (AP) -- Just a day after a Midvale police dog was killed in the line of duty, another department K-9 caught an alleged knife wielding man.
Sgt. Torin Chambers says a man was threatening a woman and trying to grab her purse Saturday in the Walmart parking lot, but fled when she fought back.
The law took up the pursuit and police dog Kasch bit the suspect and held on until officers reached him. He was treated at the scene and jailed on suspicion of robbery and assault.
On New Year's day another Midvale police dog was shot and killed by a burglary suspect, who was then shot to death by police.
