I was giving my 30 month old male German Shepherd Royal Canin Energy 4300 for the last 8-9 months. Accompanied with 5 days a week  3 km of run in the morning. Gradually he developed bad breathe, dry skin followed by itching, and bad smell in general. I was regularly giving him cold water baths after 3-4 days without using any soap or shampoo. He lives inside the house so remains significantly clean most of the time. Also developed the bad habit of sniffing food, walking away to think about it, grazing on it slowly, just overall display of low enthusiasm over his food.

Now have shifted him to a mix of ZiwiPeak 'Lamb' Air-Dried Cuisine and ZiwiPeak Venison & Fish – Cuisine Cans 385g. The entire behaviour of the German Shepherd has changed dramatically. He literally gobbles the food down to the point of cleaning his bowl down as soon as it is put in front of him. His coat has become shiny and his energy levels are much better. His breath and body odor has improved dramatically as well.

This dog food is very pricey but after trying Royal Canin followed by regular trips to the vet i found that this higher price to be much better. Has anyone else also tried this food? Please share your experience of Royal canin 4300. I was giving him 500 odd grams every day but still didn't get the required results. Initially he responded well to it but subsequently really lost interest in it. Besides it used to get dray very quickly after two weeks or so.

ZiwiPeak is awesome stuff.

I've met a lot of dogs on royal canin and so far I have yet to be impressed by the condition of any of them, nearly all have looked terrible.
