At what age does the eye color of a puppy stop changing?

by Sheesh on 29 December 2009 - 20:12

Do you mean the baby puppy eye color, or the shade of brown as they get older? Theresa

Most GSD pups seem to have all black eyes when their eyes open, and they tend to lighten into a shade of brown within a few weeks. How long do the eyes continue to lighten up before the color stabilizes?

I HAD BROWN EYES UNTIL I SHOOK THE HAND OF BOB MCKOWN.   WHEN HE SQUEEZED MY HAND MY LEFT EYE TURNED GREEN.

Well, in my experience it is genetics as well. If the genes say dark. Rown eyes, then they will not change from much from the dark puppy eyes. If light eyes are in the genes, then they can lighten for several months to a year. Theresa
