What would yous recommend for temp extremes in training outdoors in winter? low temp cut off with wind chill factor including snow?

I'm the one that can't take the cold, but I don't think dogs enjoy windy, snowy, blowy days either, at least not for long. We jog horses in -20C weather, and I don't agree with it. Too hard on the lungs IMO.
Sorry Raymond, not much help, personally, I think you should both enjoy it or it isn't worth it.

Oh I enjoy it ! I am concerned about the length of time their paws can endure the snow and cold slush ect, ect. I notice when a sitz command is given she sits all so slowly 1 a great difference between a summer sit and a winter one

So maybe she herself is not enjoying it afterall

Thank the Lord I live in the sunny South (all though we have just about flooded away this Dec with over 15" of rain).
My question is how in God's name do the dog sledder's and their dogs handle it?
Is it Bear grease or something? Just a thought.
Hope ya'll thaw out soon!

My dog luvvvvvvvvs the snow -- but I only let him stay out for a couple of hours at a time. He can get out of it by lying underneath the soffit of the house on the patio or in his doghouse, which is also on the patio.

Actually, a lot of it had melted in that picture. Now it is all gone. It started raining on Christmas night -- all through the night and, poof -- all gone !!

My dogs enjoy staying outside all day in the recent -5 degree weather we had. I'd try to bring them in and they'd beg to go back out again. They spent the days jumping in snowdrifts, eating ice chunks (their new favorite chew toys) and playing tag through 2 feet of snow (that's the stuff that wasn't drifted). I'm in Wisconsin and they're used to it here. My 10 yr old prefers to stay inside but that's more of an age thing I think. I'd look at the dog and base it on them. I do think strong winds, sleet & rain would change things but just cold & snow shouldn't be an issue if they're used to it.
