It was a muddy rainy one here in North East Indiana but on the good side I can track some more.

The day in northern middle Tennessee began with a temperature of 50F and winds blowing SE at 30-40MPH that changed to NW as the morning passed. The temperature dropped all day and the snow came at about 13:00 but did not stick. After sundown the skies cleared and the temperature continued to drop and I think tonight it will be about 25F.
Yesterday the temperature was better than the forecast and reached 60F with serious wind gusts. I tried to start my old bike but the battery was low since I last rode it during mid-November. So, after one (1) hour of charging it cranked to life and I went for what is probably the last ride of 2009. The cross winds were vicious as they gusted to 40MPH from different directions so I seldom broke 50MPH and was careful when I did. I stayed out for about one (1) hour.
I do not mean for this to sound blue as it is but a reflection. This snowfall forced me to think of an old bitch who passed eleven (11) years of age in September and who may see her 12th birthday in 2010. As she and I were on the porch watching the snow blowing sideways I thought that this may perhaps be the last one she sees so I stood on the porch a bit longer as she walked down to play in the grass.
So we did not have a white Christmas, but so much of the U.S.A. did see early snow and more snow. Merry Christmas everyone, from Bob-O and his family.
Best Regards,
Bob-O

I want it to STOP THAT RIGHT NOW! I'm already adding a whole day or two to my trip West to avoid ice/snow swinging south. I don't want to make a freaking career out of this move... Argh.

I'm in Southern Oklahoma and yes we had a very white Christmas. The dogs are loving it. The sun is shining today but it is very cold. On Christmas Eve most of the main roads in or out of Oklahoma were closed and the gov declared the whole state a state of emergency. The National Guard even came out to try to rescue people who were stuck in their cars. The latest news--more may be coming on Tuesday. I just hope it is clear Thursday so I can get out to get groceries, dog food and ciggarettes. According to Farmer's Almanac Jan. is supposed to be a very very cold and wet month for us--lots of snow and ice.

I'm in Kansas and we canceled Xmas dinner Friday. We will attempt it today. It started off calm but the wind has picked up again. So we shall see if I can make it there. I would post a picture if I knew how. But If you want to see I just put some pictures on the front page of my web site.vomwind.com Oh the joy of snow.
PS I've had enough! ready for spring :) With all this white stuff around I hope everyone had a safe and Happy Holiday. On to the new year!!
