CrysBuck25

by CrysBuck25 on 11 December 2009 - 22:12

I finally had my camera outside today while I was messing about...Had it with me, period, really, I haven't used it much of late.

We had a good romp out in the yard, a nice walk, and then I decided to try and get a stack pic of some sort, whether self stacked or just a stand stay type...I managed to get a few okay pics, but these were no great ones..Excuse the backgrounds...We've got a ton of junk still sitting around that hubby has accumulated, though he's gotten rid of quite a lot of it.  Right now it's just trying to get all the junk gathered up for the coming winter...Next year I want most of it GONE!!!:-)

Anyway, I got a couple of Oakley stalking Misty...A couple of poor stacks, and a headshot that was worthy of a post...

This first one is a good head shot of her, sans background, but it's a nice one, anyway.  She's got a pink stread forming down the center of her nose leather, and her lips are turning that color as well...Faded pigment, maybe?  Regardless, she's special to me.

This next one is a stack that she got into while I was out feeding this afternoon.  Her forelegs aren't lined up and one's too far in front of her, but it begins to give you an idea of what her conformation might be like, though it is still not a completely accurate picture...I'll eventually get a good stack pic that will show her structure better.

The next one is the same thing.  Here she almost looks like she's built more like a Malinois than a GSD...LOL

The next one is a shot of her rear..Thought I'd post it for some reason I'm not certain of now.:-)

The next two are ones I shot of her stalking Misty...Funny because she's not exactly invisible...She thinks she is, though! LOL!

This is it for the pics today...Took lots more, but none of them were all that good.  These weren't either..Lord we've got a mess to work on cleaning up around here!  Looks like a redneck mess to me!  But it's all a work in progress, and will eventually be done..Hopefully before I die of old age!

Crys,

I think Oakley looks really good!  The pink on the nose...don't they call that a "snow nose"?  It comes in the winter then back to black in the warmer months.
That is too funny the way she stalks Misty!  I'd swear she see's her!  And the way she just looks at you or what ever else she was facing it looks as though she is seeing.  Are you sure she's absolutely blind?
She is amazing and we all have you to thank for it.  (Steph too for seeing something in her and finding her YOUR home)
I have no doubt that you will be tracking with her and she will excel at it!

Fantastic face...I suppose she will always have an intense expression as she tries to figure out what's around her! How old is she now?

She's eight months old now.  Definitely intense expression, though.  She's going through a little of a personality change right now, hitting that eight month thing, testing me more than she ever has, trying the biting on my sleeves again, this time harder than when she was a pup.  She's also becoming more vocal, and testing the dominance game with other dogs and with me.  She's not mean or anything like that...Just testing the waters to see if anything's changed.

She's more serious about doing what I tell her, though, that being a good thing. When I tell her to sit, or to stay, it's not so goofy about it like she used to be.

Good dog all in all, and I think we'll go after a tracking title if I can find a place around here to do some formal tracking once I get the groundwork in place.  I've gotten some good tips on starting tracking from some of the members here, and that's bolstered my confidence...I know she can do it, but I'm not sure about me.

If I can, you can. I just HATED it at first...I'm very impatient and it seemed so boring. But after you get in practice, you really get jazzed at the tiniest steps forward. Go for it, it's actually pretty satisfying!

Crys - very good pix of her.   I really like the one of the "natural stack"  - actually, I prefer a natural stack over a posed one.  Now if you can just "black out" the background (Ha,Ha), that would be a nice picture to frame.

I can get rid of the background, Maggie..I have a photo editing program that I can use, but it's time consuming to do that kind of photo editing...Wish I could have taken that picture in the yard, where the background was better, but I was up in the back, by the chicken pen, so I worked with what I had...Hubby is going to get that mess cleaned up one of these days.

Oh yeah!  These are way better pics!  Lovely girl!  Too funny the one of her stalking Misty.  Oakley doesn't know that she is blind, so she assumes everyone else has the same lack of vision.  Nice pic of her rear, shows she isn't cow hocked.  It does sound like she has "winter nose".  Our old girl got it too.  It should go away as it gets warmer.  She certainly has a noble head on her.  If you think she is testing you at 8mo just wait until she hits a year!  Push push push!  Keep up the good work, she'll track until she drops once she understands what you want.  Never doubt her or yourself.  You're quite a gal, Crys and the two of you together will be unstoppable.  Keep us posted!
Hugs!

She's been pretty mellow up til now, actually.  Now she's really always on the go, wanting to bite on sleeves, always running, horsing around...It's like a lightbulb came on and SHE'S HERE!!!  That's great though.  She's interested in doing obedience, but more serious than she was before...

But she's not always serious...We were playing hard yesterday in the yard, and I snapped this pic...

I do believe it's her version of a smile!

I really don't know why you couldn't get a BH on her.  I think you sell yourself short Crys.  It will be interesting to see how far she takes you or vice versa!
