I've been wracking my brain trying to find a training vest for my daughter for Christmas. She is forever running out of room for tugs, balls, bait, articles, etc. I just want a plain nylon vest with a fair amount of pockets. I don't want to go to a dog training website and pay $50+ for something I'm sure I can find for less for a 13 year old girl. I've checked Bass Pro, Cabelas, Farm and Fleet, Sports Authority...no luck. And it needs to come small enough to reasonably fit her, a womens small is fine.  I thought I could go to the AKC site, buy the patches for the titles she earned, put a GSD patch on the front and have her dogs names embroidered on the back...that will be pricey enough without overpaying for the vest.

Help! Anyone find a decent vest for cheap?

buy the kid a real training vest,i can assure you that anything you buy as a comprimise will be just that ! if the young lady is truly intrested in training,i'll bet you that she'd love a proper training vest for christmas.these vest are designed for quick delivery of treats and reward toys, plus she'll be looking pretty sharp in a correctly designed training vest !!!!!! go to a local club in your area and ask some of the trainers or try their's on for size and you'll be convinced.or email a club in your area adderssed to the club training director,i'm sure they can provide you with the info you seek....good luck and keep training.

I get my vests from fordogtrainrs.com, they are very well made and the benefits at weights price. I seen in expensive vests from elitek9 seem like a good deal to me.

How about a fishing vest?  I searched for kid's fishing vets and found a cute light pink one.

Liesjers, tried that, but she is outgrown children sizes and fishing vests are not cheap either!

vom ost see- times are tough, especially when you have a forgetful teen that constantly loses her stuff! I've lost track of how many tugs I've had to buy for her. It is kind of funny watching her lay a track with all her stuff crammed in her front hoodie pocket, though. When you have kids, you learn a lot about compromise and bargains. ;)

I may have found an answer...this board is truly amazing sometimes.

You might look at photography vests as an alternative.
