Hi everyone!

I am new to the forums here. I am curious to see what brand of food people are recommending/feeding for dry kibble. ( I understand the argument for the RAW diets, but that is not something I am interested in pursuing). Anyone have experience with Natura? Thanks!

I have had good experience with Black Gold dog foods, they are affordable and have had no problems with my dogs on them. THey make a corn free diet as well, and it seems to do alright for my sensitive stomache guys.

You might want to check out the reviews posted here. Every dog tends to be a little different. My previous dog did best on Orijen, while the current guy thrives on Wellness Core. Even if you can't get the foods they recommend they have pretty clear instructions about what to look for in a good food.

We use Tast Of The Wild (TOTW). I try to keep things simple and not end up with different feeds for different dogs and TOTW works for all of our dogs.

We use Bison for every day feeding and Salmon for training treats, they love it.

Interesting site, Jackal, but the I would take the reviews with a grain of salt as they apparently are not the product of anyone with any education in or empirical understanding of canine nutrition and are based on many assumptions rather than a chemical analysis of the ingredients in any given food or their source.

The reviews appear to be down at the moment (sorry about that!), but they are based on chemical analysis of the ingredients.  When the site is back up you'll see that they discuss protein ratios, etc. as well as the source materials (for example they have good discussions of ethoxyquin and BHA).  Sure they're not the be-all end-all source of information, but it's a start.

Here's another useful link  though it's not as user friendly since you can't just click on individual brands for reviews.

I was able to get to the reviews and they are full of phrases like: ...which may well...contribute to our suspicion...we consider...appears to be...do not appear...we suspect...would reasonably be suspected...etc.  This is not science; it is guesswork and entirely subjective.

It is a good start but like I said, should be taken with a grain of salt as nowhere on this site is there any claim that any of the reviewers have any education or credentials in the field.

I like Orijen and Acana best.
