Hello Sportsfriends!
I didn't have any luck in Germany with this one, so I guess I'll try my luckhere.
This quotation of Max von Stephanitz can be found a million times on the Internet:
"Make sure my shepherddog remains a working dog for I have struggled all my life for that aim!"
Problem is, I cannot find that original quotation in my books.
Could anyone help me out and tell me where I can find it in German, what book, what page, or even surprise me with the original German Quotation.
Many thanks to anyone searching his literature.
Kind regards,
Jantie

"Take this trouble for me: Make sure my shepherd dog remains a working dog for I have struggled my life long for that aim"
... is the version of the quote that I know of.
I've always been of a mind that it was 'spoken' rather than written. To whom can't help sorry.

Perhaps, as you imply, it is a false quotation -- just part of the folklore. You should be able to find it in German if it is real.
