OK, beat it......
y thread was going a totally different direction......

Anyways, I was once a child in a childrens home in Enkenbach-Alsenborn, that wa supported
by American troops out of Ramstein Aiforce Base, who will not forgett what you guys did for me.  You gave me the hope, that ther is something better to wait for
you guys assured me that there is something ahead of me that needsto be explored,
you even reached out your hands, to help me.

I was lucky enough to be adoptet  my now parents, but if it would not have been for my American friends, maybe I would be a nothing in this world.

Anyways, My parents raised me, but my love to the GSD never decreased. Well, my parents bought me a Dachshound, his name was Tobby. Oh, by the way, his complete name was : " Xerxes von der schönen Hölle " Go figure ! Tobby and I were pretty good friends, but for me, it just could not live up to my hopes  I took him to the dog training place, but he would only "heal" when he felt like it....... I started to train other members GSD`s, which was much more rewarding!

Yada, yada, finally I got my " Gypsy vom Berhardiner Hof" , this is when I realized, that there is more to our breed, The curcumtances how I got Gypsy were more than difficult, she was sick and desperat of a loving home. I saw her downfalls, at my club it was disscussed many evenings, and the outcome always was, she needs to be put down. I refused, and told them, give me 6 month, if she will not adopt by then, I will pts her. I trained with her every day, she adopted to me in a way I never would have thought. She really was die hard on evrybody except me. She never needed a leash,.
In the mean time I got married - suprise-suprise- my wife was American. She actually states to this day, that she fell in love with me, when she watched me and Gypsy do obiedience !!! What a taker !!
Gypsy thought my son to walk.... I am not kidding. She refused to sleep anywhere else than alond side of Christophers bed, tell me about devouting !!
This is how I became a breeder.....my great-grand fathers " Hasso", my "Gypsy" and my love for these magnificant animals.
Will Ij ever have a Gypsy again ? I probably wont, will I measuered any dogs on her behaviour ? I probably will, but I know for sure, no dog ever will be like my Gypsy, the dog that made me marry my loving wife Christel, and that, to top it off taught my son to walk !
Peace Ulli
