I saw a post about a NY trainer named Christopher Savini. The post had information that Chris was involved in a Hit and run accident and for drugs. This is all media BS! The incident was mis reported. Chris had hit an emtpy car that in turn hit a drunk driver whom was standing behind the car on the Grand Central Parkway.......Chris went to a friends house and noticed that there was blood on his car and immediatley returned to the scene of the accident. The media tried to spin it that his father turned him in.That is bullshit........Anyone who knows Chris knows that is the furthest thing from the truth. Chris is the kindest most caring individual that I have ever met. He took time to let me apprentice under him and never asked for a dime. He is by far the most knowledgable trainer I have ever met. His dogs that he bred were the best dogs that i had the pleasure of working with. Showlines that worked better then most working lines. God bless Diva V.D Malchower Aue she was a dog that taught me how to present a sleeve..........God bless Chris for making me the trainer I am.....If anybody knows where to contact Chris please let me know....Its been years since I have spokent to him.........I heard he stopped training dogs and is a counselor with the mentally ill????? Does anybody know if there is truth to this?

I know Chris, Yes he is a counselor in the South Bronx and he is a very good one but he is a better dog trainer.
Chris took an average dog of mine and an average handler in me and made us competition worthy. I attained a SchII and a KKL under his guidance and he did it for the sheer joy of his love for dogs. He only charged me for the obedience and did the protection and tracking for fun.Chris should return to training full time he is by far the best trainer I have worked with.
In a sport full of idiots and egotistical maniacs he was the most knowledgabe and humble trainer i worked with. He does every thing for the dog and taught me how to enjoy Schutzhund as a sport.......

"Chris had hit an empty car that in turn hit a drunk driver whom was standing behind the car on the Grand Central Parkway.......Chris went to a friends house and noticed that there was blood on his car and immediately returned to the scene of the accident."

How did the blood find its way to Chris' car?

Chris not notice that he hit an empty car, he must have or he could not have gone back to the scene.

If he left the scene of an accident that he was involved in (caused), then it was a hit and run....even though he returned, it would have still been a hit and run.

By leaving the scene, he has caused himself a world of trouble, too bad, from your accounts, he seems like a decent guy who made a bad decision.

I have his email address you can email me at rpagan54bxny@aol.com and I'll give it to you. I do not think that he would want it posted.

I emailed Chris and got a quick response and was very happy to hear that he is doing well. Chris decided to work with people afflicted with addiction problems as a direct result of the accident that he was involved in taking a mans life due to alcohol consumption. In being inquisitive I forwarded his response to the questions posted on this thread. Here is what he wrote.

.

How did the blood find its way to Chris' car? I hit a drunk a drunk driver whom was involved in an accident only seconds earlier in which he hit the center guard rail. The driver got out of his car and was leaning against the blindside of his vehicle when a taxi slowed down in front of me to avoid hitting the inoperable vehicle I switched lanes to avoid hitting the taxi I instantly hit the empty drunk drivers vehicle. The drivers body was hit by his car and he subsequently was thrown above my line of vision and spattered blood on the hood of my car

Chris not notice that he hit an empty car, he must have or he could not have gone back to the scene.  I did notice that I hit the empty car but in the process I cracked my windshield with my own head and was somewhat dizzy. I looked in my rear view mirror and there were cars coming behind me and i thought that if i stopped in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway that i would be hit as well. So i continued to look for a place to pull over to my right. If anybody knows where the accident occured there is a spilt in two major highways, the Grand Central and the Jackie Robinson and there is no shoulder or exits. So I went on the Jackie Robinson and got off at the first exit and went to look for a payphone to report the accident. I tried 3 payphones and none of them worked so I went to a local freinds home and upon getting out of my car i saw blood. i called my father for a ride and instantly went back to the accident. and turned myself in. Upon giving a truthful statement of the accident i was told by NYPD that there was a fatality.

If he left the scene of an accident that he was involved in (caused), then it was a hit and run....even though he returned, it would have still been a hit and run. Yes technically it was a hit and run and I was held fully accountable and was charged with a misdemeanor  leaving the scene and failure to report an accident. I would do anything to change the circumstances but inevitably my stopping would not of changed the outcome and the devastating loss of life. I have since dedicated my life to working with people with substance abuse and alcohol problems as a senior counselor in a alternative to incarceration residential drug program in the South Bronx and do not have the time to work with dogs.

By leaving the scene, he has caused himself a world of trouble, too bad, from your accounts, he seems like a decent guy who made a bad decision. I am decent guy and given the situation I cannot say whether or not I made the right decision. It weighs on my heart that there was a loss of life and  that is all that matters. I know if I would of pulled over I would be the victim because the other driver was drunk. But I could never be the victim as i still have my life. Then again if I would of stopped i might of been hit as well. Its a catch 22 and I'll let god sort it out.....

My hat's off to you, as you are actually doing something to help this world.

This happened in early 2007 why is it being brought up now?

by nhgsd on 03 December 2009 - 00:12

I have been trying to find Chris since 2007 and googled his name and read the post on this site and saw people talking about him and wanted to get in touch with him....................I did not want to open old wounds but when I saw that someone was so judgmental of the person who transformed my life I felt obligated to defend him.................
