need to familiarize yourself with the difference between drives and threshold.  if you truly want a dog with no drive.....why get a gsd?  maybe another breed would suit you better.  just trying to be helpful.

Why not get a standard poodle?

by Invincible_bw on 28 November 2009 - 17:11

I just find alot of the working lines can't stay still for a second and some of the showlines but not as bad as the workingline dogs. I think a good working dog can still be calm in the house but have tons of drive when its out working.
I've deleted some of the other post because I'm not here to make trouble just looking for some help.

Standard poodles... nothing wrong with them. If I wanted a standard poodle I would go and get myself one.
Now there is such things are a German shepherd with a high drive and theres some that don't have as much drive. The only question I am asking is if anyone can suggest a bloodline that tends to have less drive. It's like that with any breed. Some are more driven than others.... duh!

Maggiemae-  American bloodlines ... Personally I would rather stick with german showlines. Nothing against people that breed them just my preferance.
