I have a container that is listed as holding 25#. Each time the container is empty, I always wash it out before filling it again with the new bag of food--in other words, it is always empty before adding the new bag of food. I buy 30# bags, and sometimes there is about 5# left in the bag when the container is at capacity, what I would expect for a 25# container.--but the problem is, often I can pour all the 30# in the container with room for more. I feel like I am getting jipped out of atleast 5# of food. I guess I will have to take each bag over to the dog wieght scale before I buy it to make sure I am getting the full 30#. I called the manuf. for TOTW (Diamond) and they gave me some crap about settling. I'm sorry, but if it's the same food, shouldn't it "settle" at the same rate for each bag?? Unfortunately, my 3 do great on this food, otherwise I would find a different more consistent grain free food.

You comparing apple to oranges :) A container holding a capacity listed as 25 lbs is always listed as that being the weight of plain water which is pretty much the same in volume. Depending on the density of the kibble you end up with a complete different volume compared to weight. So the correct thing to do would be weighing the bags on the scale as you already said.
