Well Las Vegas passes the mandatory spay/neuter bill. One of the exceptions is to have a dog fancier permit. Not sure how hard it will be to get. The application was rather short. I've attached a link to it. I am a member of UScA and also a member of a recognized SchH Club.
I also have trial dates and locations. Anyone else have to apply for one of these permits?
How hard was it?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
If I haven't moved back to TX by April 1st, when the law goes into action, I am going to move. We are hoping to move before then anyway...but just in case

Here's the link to the passing of the bill

And the application

Thanks again,

P.S. What really gets me ANGRY is that they want them s/n by FOUR months old! Unbelievable

Your city form looks pretty simple.  In my city we must provide documentation of competition,   a  copy of my USA score book apparently was sufficient, because they issued a lifetime spay/neuter exemption BUT I am still not comfortable at all with the ordinance in my city or any other.

I'd say that it's time for one of two things...Either the citizens need to stand and tell the city to go straight to hell with their ordinances, or it's time to move.  It's bul when a city can come in and tell you that you have to get your dogs fixed because they say so...

I would move away from any city period.
Louisville Ky. is proposing a law that makes it illegal to set in a car with the motor idling while you wait for whatever.
Waiting to pick up someone in a vehicle with the motor running, at a school, a store, a parking lot, convenience store, you name it, you get a citation.
This country has gone law crazy.    You don't like the dog laws, I don't like the smoking laws, next they will be in your home inspecting for wasted energy and sending you a bill.
Its insane what is going on around the world, not just this country.

I thought I could come back here and things might have settled down a bit,  I was wrong.
Its been one of those days.

The new bill health one, has a 20 page whip lash about the   Extra appointees that Pres can name to make new research decisions, and if you are graded by the kind of  test you need...A you get one,,B probably get one....C probably wont get the test  D. forget it..   A grading system is in the Health bill...   source:    ABC  Health anaylist hired by ABC to keep the Health bill read and explained.
The recent do not get a mamagram garbage  , is another test to see how far we will let them SUGGEST>>>

and How the INS. co. will take that suggestions...just wait...Try getting a test by your Dr.if you get graded  C OR D....

Yes it's crazy! And Yes, Sitasmom.. it is time to move. We moved to this city temporarily for jobs a year and a half ago, well we made our money now want to go home.
Moons, I don't like the dog laws OR the smoking laws LOL I am so tired of hearing sirens and helicopter 24/7. I can't take my dogs out to pee without spotlights on me from helicopters at  least once a week. And I live in a pretty nice neighborhood for Las Vegas.... I miss trees and grass...Hell,  I'll take the fleas too, that's what Frontline is for!
And proposing a law so you can't leave your car running while waiting for someone?! I can't believe it
Sue,
WOW! Glad you got exempt status, but I would be a bit uncomfortable too.
Crys, from what I have read, these laws failed miserably in many cities already.
YR,
I haven't heard that one yet. <shaking head>

My head is spinning...

I lived in a small city in which I was required to submit an annual breeder's permit form for my intact male.  It was fairly painless and took a lot less time than I spend on rescues and volunteering at the humane society.

Don't take it so personally.  It isn't about you; if you think about the morons who let their pets wander and breed indiscriminately, it really isn't a bad idea.

by TessJ10 on 24 November 2009 - 14:11

Sorry, but it's NOT "about the morons who let their pets wander and breed indiscriminately."  Those people will still do that; this law will not stop them.

That "fairly painless" breeder's permit is being used in MSN cities to give access AT ANY TIME to your property for "inspections."  Who will be inspecting you?  Animal rights activists, that's who.  AR groups like HSUS and PETA have agreed to provide "volunteers" who will be poking their nose into your business.  When?  Whenever they feel like it.

Silly me...I hadn't even considered the whole paranoia aspect of the equation!  Can you provide me with links to information about this abuse of my rights so that I can educate myself because none of those people came to my house...ever.
