Looking for some input on flea/tick control...without using the harsh chemicals of Frontline, Bio-Spot, etc.

I have several GSD's and 2 Border Collies. I feed an all natural raw diet and DO NOT like putting the chemicals on my dogs. My experience with them in the past is my dogs have had horrible reactions to them. Such as one dog going lame in the hindquarters for 24 hours, 1 dog getting acid like burns down his back, they all freak out and slink around like it burns/hurts. So for the last 2 years, I've opted not to use anything. I spray my dogs with a citronella repellant when they are going to be outdoors, but I am not sure of it's effectiveness.

This summer, one of my BC's got very ill and I almost lost him. He tested positive for lyme disease. He just now finished his treatment for it. My vet is adament he be on preventive...and I agree. I would like something for all of my dogs that is effective. However, my own vet doesn't even use Frontline or any like products due to the harshness of it.

So I've been doing research trying to find a product to use. It has to be effective...if my BC gets bit by a tick again, it could cause his lyme to resurface and get very  ill again.

I found a product called Sentry Natural Defense Flea and Tick control. I have read a lot of reviews on it...very mixed reviews. Most of the negative ones were cat related though.

Does anyone know of a product that I could check in to?

I live in Wisconsin...tick haven! My dogs are outside a lot. We hike, camp, I do Cadaver work with one of my GSD's.
Thanks for any input.

I have to use Permanone on myself, and frontline on the dogs.
My only other choice is to use kennel dip periodically none of which will really protect against limes.
I live in tick country too.   No getting around it without forest fires.

I've been to Madison, too cold.
