I believe vitamin B12 is thought to give a burst of energy and stamina, if true, this could be beneficial for running around the ring for an hour.

B12 gives a feeling of energy ala a stimulant. Increases energy, appetite and general feeling of wellbeing - its used a lot in human athletes, performance horses and also in the treatment of sick animals that have no appetite.
As it is a vitamin, there is no rule against using it and it flushes out of the body, not testable.

Kim Gash is right. B12 gives a boost of energy.
I take monthly injestions of B12, about 30 minutes to an hour after the shot, you start feeling warm and you get a burst of energy. feels like your mind is clearer, and you just have to get up and do something. the extra energy generally last about 3-4 weeks for me. when its time for another shot, you def. know. I have no energy, feel like I have brain fog, and am all achey. the shot stops all that.
I assume it would be the same for the dogs.
