Currently, as listed on the WUSV page http://www.schaeferhund.de/site/index.php?id=431

USA has 4894 members
GSDCA has 7000 members

As stated in the WUSV By-Laws (see pages 9-17 in english) at :http://www.schaeferhund.de/site/fileadmin/download/satzungen/Satzung_WUSV.pdf

Each WUSV Member gets 1 vote for being a member then an additional 1 vote per each 1000 members - therefore, as calculated on numbers given to the WUSV for 2009:

USA has 5 votes
GSDCA has 7 votes

Maybe this whole thing of USA's exclusionary membership is a numbers game trying to decrease GSDCA's vote basis?

Hi Kim,
Anyway to get this site in English? My German is forever so rusty. This whole mess has my brain flying in all directions.

could be part of the reason.  too bad no one from usca has said what it is about.  that is outside of the "conflict of interest"  which still has not been explained.

Cathy - you can get a google task bar for free and it will translate once you go to that page - but you really don't need it -
Aktuelle = News  Weltunion is the World Union - the first page is really just partyline explanation of what it is - a world union of GSD clubs.

On the right where continents are listed - the are very similar to the english, you should have no trouble with that  - you just click it, it shows the countries - and then you click the country, then the club you want to see the information on - all clubs have their contact info, website if they have one, when they became a member - and most importantly, the number of members they have.

The linkd to their bylaws takes you straight to the document and the pages in that document I gave you are the english - all of the SV reports, magazines etc. are translated into three languages -

The bottom two items listed under the continents are the clubs that fall under clubs that are not full members - that would be the Introductory Membership and the Trial  Membership.  (meaning try it out, not give trials :)

Here is another interesting question... should members of the club who do not own GSD's be counted towards the total # of members?  The total # of members ultimately determines the # of WUSV votes?  It is afterall the World Union of German Shepherd Clubs not the World Union of GSD, Rottweiler, Malinois' and Giant Schnauzer  etc etc clubs.  Not to defend the GSDCA but I would venture to say most of its members, who currently own dogs, own GSD's.  Should Rottie owners and Malinois owners have a say in the world standard of GSD's?  I love all working breeds and enjoy watching them on the Schutzhund field but I am confused how a club that is not breed specific can determine the future of one particular breed.

Thanks Kim,
I was trying to see if they listed the USA judges that are suppose to be SV recognized now. I will keep reading

The judges list is not on the WUSV pages - there are no WUSV judges though there is a WUSV judges program and it is headed up by WUSV board member David Landau from the GSDCA.

No they are not listed.

Here is the page: http://www.schaeferhund.de/site/index.php?id=569  It is the first pdf file and has the title same as above

Grimster1970 brings up a very good point:   "I am confused how a club that is not breed specific can determine the future of one particular breed. "

The Board of UScA wants to play both sides of the table.  They claim to be an organization for the GSD, and they want all of the accolades associated with that status, including throwing the other "competing" organization (GSDCA) under the bus, by prohibiting members from holding a dual membership status.

However, they want to own the sport of Schutzhund in the United States as well.  Just look at the steps they took by creating an USA only scorebook.  They did this in response to the AWDF passing a motion that was intended to let the alternate breed clubs grow within the AWDF.  The motion was passed at the Annual meeting of the AWDF and was an unamious decision by all of the member clubs including the UScA.  In fact, their delegate (Johanness) seconded the motion which reads:

"All AWDF score books must be acquired from their specific AWDF member
sport/breed club with the exception of the sporting clubs (Mondioring, LV/DVG,
etc) in order to retain the breed identification in the AWDF score book, otherwise
the breed ID will be listed in the AWDF score book as MIX BREED.
The motion was seconded by Johaness Grewe & Anne Camper
All were in favor – none opposed.
Motion passed.

So greedy UScA creates a new scorebook, so they can slither around the motion above, and in addition raises the price to stamp the  AWDF books for the people that join and support their individual breed clubs.

It's high time that the Board of Directors for the AWDF and UScA separate themselves and figure out which hats they should be wearing!  One final point, if most of the members/clubs of UScA that are opposed to the Johanness amendment jump ship, the only votes at next years annual meeting will be "good ole' boys" and the power in numbers needed to bring about change will not exist.

USA did NOT "creates a new scorebook. "The new USA scorebook IS the AWDF scorebook!
