I have a 4.5 months old puppy. whenever I bring her out for a walk, she seems always looking for poop to eat. she'll eat bird poop, cat poop, and other dog's poop. you would expect her to eat her own too, but no, she doesn't eat her own poop. why is this? now my whole family is frasutrated by this behavior. anyway to cure it?
(her yard is very clean and she's housebroken)

Hmmm she has a fetish lol...Im kidding, but I have heard it might be some sort of vitamin defiancy she is experiencing but Im not 100% on that...Ide be curious to see what others say. My male did that fo a few months at about the same age as yours...eventually within a month or two he stopped...maybe just a phase, a nasty one...but um curious to see what others say...good luck and watch out for those puppy kisses.

Keep her away from strange poop, it's just a faze she's going through,

I think girl dogs want to eat poop more than boy dogs, I think girl dogs have a genetic thing about poop disposal,

cause when they have pups, they clean their dog den & eat any and all poop that is laying around, sounds gross,

but it's a fact of nature, so she's just practicing.....  (To be the number 1 mom of the year!)

This behaviour stems from the fact that dogs are scavengers first, and hunters second. It is a behaviour that should be curbed because of diseases and parasites other animals may pass in their faeces.

Dogs have a keen nose for protein and that attracts practically all of them to cat faeces. Faeces in general contains a lot of undigested or partially-digested food, hence, the attraction for dogs.

A cure,
How about a sharp yank on her collar and the leave it command, take off in a different direction at a fast pace.

Bob-O makes the strongest argument why you cannot allow this.

Moons.
