My dogs mohter is in site, however, when I try to update and put her name in it won't let me.  How do I add her to the pedigree? is there any way to contact a webmaster?  Thank you.

The first thing that you should do is to find your dog’s most recent ancestors in the pedigree database. If you can find your dog's sire or dam, then there is not much work to do. If they, or preceding ancestors are missing then they each need to individually registered and later linked to each other.

Start with the first dog that you cannot find, or the dog who you wish to enter:

• Select "Register a Dog"
• Select "Sex"
• Enter full name of dog without any titles.
• Enter registry and number.
• Insert parents (here's where it becomes tricky). For the "Father's Name"-type "no information" and for the "Mother's Name"-type "no information". Note, do not use the quotation marks!
• Enter achievements, if any.
• Enter work trials, if any.
• Enter date of birth.
• Enter HD results, if known.
• Enter colour.
• Enter height, if known.
• Now select "Continue".
• On the next page you will see "Eighth Step"
• For the father, it should say "Not Known"
• For the mother it should say "Not Known".
• Enter your e-mail contact address and select Register (dog's name)

Continue until all missing dogs are in the database.

• Now, find your dog the same way that you would look for any dog, and select "Ped Update".
• For Original Parent Information, you will see "no information".
• Enter the Sire's name exactly as it is spelled, or just part of a name, such as a first name. For Original Parent Information, you will see a dog’s name from a pull-down list. Find the name of the correct dog. If you see "no information" then back up to the first page and try a different part of the name such as only the first name.
• Enter the Dam's name exactly as it is spelled, or just part of a name, such as a first name. For Original Parent Information, you will see a dog’s name from a pull-down list. Find the name of the correct dog. If you see "no information" then back up to the first page and try a different part of the name such as only the first name.

Each missing dog is placed in the pedigree database in this way, and then linked through the Ped Update function.

Good Luck,

I think what she/he is saying is the mother is already on the database, but wants to add her to her/his dog's pedigree.
I am assuming you've pulled up  your dog's pedigree, clicked on update pedigree.  You should be able to do it there.  Make sure you are logged in.  If that does not work try to refresh the page after you've pulled up the update pedigree page.

Missyfly96, I at first presumed the same thing, and read again the post. It seems the original poster is trying to register the dog to its dam (and sire) rather than making sure the new dog is registered properly and then linking this new dog to its dam and sire with the pedigree update function.

At least, that is what I gather from the message as written. The pedigree database is unforgiving if a registration step is skipped.

Best Regards,

Makes certain that your spelling, caps etc is 100% identical to the way it appears on the database for the mother.  Then go to your dog's page, clilck update pedigree and put in her name as mother. Spelled exactly the same way, with no titles. If you type Von and the pedigree on the mother reads V, or Vom, or Von der then it won't be entered as the same dog that's already here, and as that dog doesn't exist the page will read "Does not exist" when you're all done.
