The thief better fear me.
Shoot my dog and you'll get no mercy, I won't call it in, and your friends and relatives can just wonder, why don't he write !!
I've seen a thief shoot an elderly woman in the face for not handing over a purse.
No jail time, just remove these people from the planet.
Its just that simple.

Oh, that put a knot in my stomach.  Over a computer?  I agree with Bob on justice, but we're making assumptions, who said it was a man?

I don't think an alarm system would have made much of a difference in this case.  I don't think this was a random burglary more like a home invasion.  Most burglars won't go to this much trouble and planning to steal a PC.  My guess would be that other items were stolen that weren't reported to the police.  I would also suspect the homeowner knows the subject/s or knows someone who knows them.  There seems to be more to this story than reported in the article.  I wonder if the burglar was hoping to catch the home owner at home and wouldn't have stopped with the dog.

This is not just a burglary, there was something or someone else this guy was trying to get.  Usually, there is some kind of motivation for this type of crime, either drugs or violence.

A tragedy for the dog, very sad.

Yeah, they didn't go to that much trouble for a PC. There almost certainly was drugs/money involved.

Sad that the dog had to die, but great that he died doing his job. That's part of the reason I keep my two.

I wonder what was on THAT pc?

I agree with moons, give me a country man who protects his family and dogs any day. Touch one of my dogs and you will find a small blue eyed old lady with a gun.
