I know...another food topic. Sorry.

Is it alright to feed both kibble and raw. As in two different meals a day.

Lukas eats two cups of Taste of the Wild for breakfast. And I have been giving him raw in the evenings. I havn't come across any problems with it so far. Which begs another question I have about liver. I know you are not supposed to overdue liver, but how much is enough? Also what is your guess on how much a 9 month old should eat. He usually has to eat a lot or he'll look deathly skinny to everyone.

I found a calculator on one of the raw website -  - not sure how accurate is it -

You can do kibble and raw, as long as your dog handles it well.
As far as how much to feed:  It is more about the projected weight of an adult, not the age of the dog.  You should feed 2-4% of the puppy's future weight as an adult (usually it is about 1 1/2 to 2 # a day of raw food for a GSD)  If you're feeding a kibble meal, then adjust accordingly.  Organ meat(liver) should only make up 5% of the raw meal.
If your dog feels a bit thick, cut back! You should be able to feel ribs and see a nice waistline when you look down at your dog.
Growing pups have to be adjusted with their growth spurts as far as amounts, but at 9 months you should be feeding about the same amount daily.

This is a good site for information on rawfeeding, I believe there is a spreadsheet in one of the links:  www.rawdogranch.com
