I received word about a 7 month old small AKC female that is needing a new home.
this is the story I received:
<<<<<<<<<<
This dog was purchased back in April from the Frisco Petland by our son’s x-girlfriend. We thought it was a mistake at the time (she lives by herself in an apartment and works all day and goes out at night). The dog would occasionally come over to our house this summer (when our son was home from college) and we volunteered to watch the dog once when she was out of town, but we never had it for more than 3 days so we didn’t get much of a chance to work with it.

The girl changed apartments last week, and the new apartment doesn’t allow large dogs. Our son called us and asked if we knew anyone who wanted the dog, otherwise she was going to take it to a shelter. We didn’t want to see that so we took it in and have been looking for a home for it. We tried giving the dog to a friend of a neighbor and they had it for a few days before bringing it back. The problem was the dog wasn’t getting along with their other two dogs (male labs) and had too much energy to be around their small child.

The dog is a female, now 7 months old, very bright and active but hasn’t had a lot of training or discipline. It is not spayed, although we are willing to pay to get this done. It weighs about 40 lbs and gets along with our other dog (a female Lab mix) and is even ok with our cat (although the cat won’t let it get very close). The dog is tolerant and I have spent time testing its limits by playful poking and pulling to see if it would get aggressive (it hasn’t). We are also working with it on basics such as Sit, down, stay, walking on a lead, etc. It is doing pretty well but needs to be with someone who will keep working with it.

We are really torn as to what to do with this dog. My wife and I can’t keep another dog as our kids are grown and we both work and travel. However, we like this dog and don’t want to see it harmed.

IF you can help us at all, we would be so grateful. Apparently the German Shepard rescue is not accepting dogs. We are working on other options, but IF you can help, please give my husband a call. If you do find her a home, she has a ton of toys a blanket and bed a dish and a bag full to things Coleen has purchased for her

I have attached some photos we shot today.

People are willing to pay for her spay.  I have all contact info,  just don't want to post their #'s on an international board.

she is located in North Texas.

Uberland, is there a chance that you, or the custodians, of this sweet little girl could post this info on the www.germanshepherds.com website? It has a large Rescue section with a nationwide network, so she would get MUCH more exposure than on the PDB which, let's face it, isn't heavily into finding dogs homes. You, or they, would have to sign up in order to post, but that is very quick and easy to do.

If you,  or they, would prefer me to do it (I'm already a member) just PM me with all their contact info etc,. and I'll be happy to oblige.

Überland,
I know that you are a member of GSDWorld, so you can post it there as well! We have a rescue section!
