Is there anyone online that is familar with working puppy prices I could PM about the price of a particular sires offspring?The breeder named a price that i thought was kinda high. Though I dont know if I should name them...I dont want to cause any drama.

there really is no standard.  i've seen very nice, well bred pups go for as little as 600 usd.  i think most average litters bring 1000 to 1800 usd for a pup.  i have also seen ads all the way up tyo 3000 per pup.  then ofcourse, you have shipping to consider.  certain bloodlines will bring more and pups from titled parents bring more - and should.  its all up to the individual on what they want from a pup and what they are willing to pay for it.  i think when times get tough, people ask a bit less because they are anxious to move the pups and realize that 8-12 week window for bonding with new owners is also important.
in reality, the initial cost of a pup is less significant when compared to the cost of properly feeding, vetting and training a dog for approximately 12 yrs.  just something to think about.
