Hello all I need your help I have one male about 1 year old and want to get another dog what to you all suggest a Male or a Female, so far I ve got a mixed response some say two males togather is a BAD idea and some say they'll be fine. Can someone who has been in the same shoes before please shed some more light on this by their experience.

111romeok,
2 males in the same house should be fine. My experience: I had my Retired Working Police Dog and my unaltered GSD who is now 4.5 yrs old together. They've never faught. I also have a 12 yr old altered male Akita mix who is actually best buds with both my GSDs. It is you, the owner and calm pack leader who sets what is to take place in your home. As long as you are that person, you'll be fine.
You shouldn't have a problem as long as your now male is not male dominate. If he is, then a female may be your best option. But I've also known males and females to "fight" too, so it's not always the same sex. Just this morning, my female Corgi jumped my male Corgi.
Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, drop in here or PM me,
Brandi

Wait until your male is two, make sure you have done a good job of training and socializing.
Come to know your male well, his personality.
Male or female makes a difference only in the challenges they each would add to your situation, the main thing is make it a puppy, not an older dog or adolescent.
If you don't have adequate space, and plenty of time to give them both don't bother.
Success depends on how well handle things.
