If you can find 100% pure bloodlines let us know.
And why three months?
Sounds like a breeding program to me.

Just curious.

Since all of these dogs came from the same place a long, long time ago, I have to ask, how many generations back is considered "pure"?

by crhuerta on 02 October 2009 - 12:10

I was told once by a breeder of working lines, that since the East & West is no longer divided,..."true" DDR bloodlines are almost non existent.  100% DDR is extinct........practically..
My personal knowledge is very limited in this area, and I can only state the information I was given...... although I think the DDR lines are very impressive.

There is no "100% DDR" dogs anymore... Berlin wall fell in 20 years ago, that's 4 or 5 generations of dogs ago.

You may come close, but as far as I know, it's gone. There are some dogs out there, with strong DDR genes, but no 100% anymore.

There are dogs have are pure DDR lines. They are just few and far between. I know a few DDR dogs. I must say they are very impressive looking.

Pharaoh

Pharaoh is 100% DDR.  www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/551839.html

They are getting a little in-bred.  I think they are all cousins.   Michele

Yes,  100%'ers still exist. Just because the state "DDR" is gone for 20 years, doesnt mean that there are no full (or clean) descendants of those dogs existant. However, genepool is limited and many do not represent the excact picture from then anymore.

I will not name any breeders, as I feel that everyone who is truly commited to preserve this heritage will do their homework on type and lineage, and will find a breeder that suits their needs without inquiring puppies here. (As well as only use the 100% as a marketing tool.)
