forged pedigree??? - Page 1

Hi I'm new here and just wondering how true these pedigrees are. I put a deposit on a puppy and they sent me this web site to look at the dads pedigree. It was very impressive. And since AKC does not put the SCHH1,2or3 titles on there certified pedigrees. I decided to check my females pedigree to see if she had any ancestors with titles. I did not find her parents registered. And then it told me to register the father and mother. And that got me thinking. So I put the father and mother of my new puppy in place of the real parents of my female and wola there was that impressive pedigree for my female. although it was not real if I chose to be dishonest I could print it out and tell people it was her pedigree. Now I deleted it imediatly. But it bothers me that it can be done. Because now it has me thinking if the puppy I'm getting really has this pedigree. Is there a way this info on this data base can be verified. Because it's terrible but there are many dishonest people in this world that would do this. THANK YOU FOR ANY INFO!!!

To be completely honest, you are right...Anyone can put any pedigree on here. Hopefully though you got references before buying your puppy from the breeder. You can also ask about DNA testing for the dog before you buy it. If they refuse, you can always ask for your deposit back.
